Biographies of Elijah Mays (1773-1859) and Patsy Pryor (abt. 1774-abt.1824)

36. Elijah Mays, son of John Mayse and Susan Porter, was born in __ ___ 1773 in Bedford Co., Virginia and died on 17 July 1859 in Breckinridge Co., Kentucky. Elijah Mays married Patsey Pryor about 1804 in Bedford Co., Virginia.

 

 

37. Patsey Pryor, daughter of _______ Pryor and _______ _______, was born about 1774 most probably in Bedford Co., Virginia and died about 1824 in Breckinridge Co., Kentucky.

Much more research is needed on the Mays and Pryor ancestors.

They had at least one known child:

36.1 William Mays, b. __ ___ 1805 in Bedford Co., Virginia; d. about 1855 in Hancock Co., Kentucky; Md. Mary Mattingly about 1834 in _______ Co., _______.

BIRTH - Taken from Breckinridge Co., Kentucky, Vital Statistics on microfilm. His Death Record shows the date he died, his age, and where he was born.

MARRIAGE - Bedford Co., Virginia Marriage Bonds.

BIRTH - Taken from the 1810 Census of Bedford Co., Virginia and 1820 Census of Breckinridge Co., Kentucky.

DEATH - This date was chosen because she appears in the 1820 Census of Breckinridge Co., Kentucky, but is gone from the family when the 1830 Census was taken. She died sometime between 1820 and 1830.
